  1. MAINTENANCE
    1. Owner Manuals for Clay Studio equipment are kept in the second drawer of the file cabinet in the Sculpture Room.
    2. Survey and inspect space and equipment on a regular basis and notify GVR as needed to make repairs for which they are responsible.
    3. Maintain Clay Studio equipment such as slab rollers, extruder, wheels, spray booth, compressor, sinks, etc. in working order.
    4. Repair equipment as appropriate or submit a request to GVR to do so.
    5. Respond to Clay Studio member requests for assistance with equipment or other machinery.
    6. Notify Purchasing staff of supplies needed specifying brands and quantities as appropriate.
    7. Ensure that the electric room does not contain combustible material and items are kept in appropriate places.
    8. Encourage training in the use of Automatic External Defibrillator.
    9. Organize an annual clean-up of the Clay Studio, if necessary.
  2. SAFETY
    1. Correct and or report unsafe conditions to GVR.
    2. Post physical address of Clay Studio near the telephone for 911 calls.
    3. Post Evacuation Plan.
    4. Maintain a first aid kit at the monitor’s station and physical location of the AED.
    5. In the event of a minor medical incident, direct the person to the first aid box.
    6. Keep all Clay Studio (physical) keys not in use. (Membership Chair manages electronic keys.)
    7. Maintain a log of keys which have been distributed, including date and name of person receiving the key.
    8. Assure that Clay Studio members are aware of the health hazards associated with clay and glazes.
  3. ROOM COORDINATORS
    1. Assign one Clay Studio member to act as Room Coordinator for each of the following: Sculpture Room, Handbuilding Room, Wheel Room, Open Studio, and Classroom.
    2. Room Coordinators will monitor the assigned room to identify unmet needs, desirable changes and emerging problems or other issues requiring attention.
    3. If the matter is urgent, Coordinators will bring the issue to the Committee Chair for immediate action. Other room issues will go to the Facility Maintenance Committee for discussion and possible action.
  4. INVENTORY
    1. Maintain an inventory of all furniture, millwork and equipment in the Clay Studio.
