Service Book Management Verification of Service Time Communication

  1. FUNCTIONS
    1. Service Book Management:
      1. The Committee Chairperson is responsible for creating a Service Book at the beginning of each year that includes each member’s name.
      2. Any members who are not required to provide service due to other assigned Clay Studio responsibilities are included in the Service Book but recorded as exempt.
      3. New members are added to the Service Book throughout the year.
    2. Verification of Service Time:
      1. The verification of service time is performed by reviewing the members who have both swiped their badge and properly recorded their service in the Service Book.
        1. The information is derived from information that is printed from the Point of Sale (POS) system or sign-in scanner that provides a list of all who entered the studio.
    3. Communication:
      1. The Committee is responsible for notifying each member who fails to perform their required service by following the steps contained in the Policy Manual under Member Obligations (see section II, E.) Sanctions are established for nonperformance, up to and including suspension.
      2. The Committee regularly communicates with the Monitoring Committee and the Facilities Committee to coordinate waivers for service as may be appropriate.
    4. Incentives for Clay Studio GVR Class Instructors, Workshop Leaders, and Helpers:
      1. GVR Classes:
        1. Instructors receive pay from GVR and service credit for the month the class is in session.*
        2. Helpers receive service credit for the month the class is in session.
      2. Intro to Clay Class:
        1. Instructors receive pay from GVR and 3 months of service credit (3 sessions).
        2. Helpers receive service credit for the month the class is in session.
      3. Workshops:
        1. Leaders receive service credit for the month the workshop is in session.*
        2. Helpers receive service credit for the month the workshop is in session.
      4. Explanation for Asterisk *:
        1. If a class or workshop overlaps from one month into another, i.e., if the workshop begins in February and continues into March, the instructors, workshop leaders, and helpers will receive service credit for both months provided the class or workshop lasts for at least four hours in each month.
